Pinto Creek Ranch Acres: 4,000+/- Acres Location: This beautiful live water ranch is located just 7 miles west of Brackettville and approximately 25 miles east of Del Rio. Del Rio which is home to Lake Amistad, is considered to be some of the nation’s best bass fishing and is now hosting direct flights from Continental Connection. Pinto Creek Ranch has about one mile of frontage on highway 90, and is only two and a half hours driving time from San Antonio. Description: A beautiful high fence Kinney County ranch with a variety of native tree and brush species. Primarily consisting of mesquite, the brush browse throughout the pasture yields high protein and is very nutritious for the native wildlife. Large oak trees line the half mile of the live Pinto Creek that flows within the ranch, offering some great fishing for a variety of species of freshwater fish. In addition to the landscape throughout the ranch, the road systems that provide accessibility through the pastures are as good as they get. Wildlife: Wildlife on Pinto Creek Ranch has been top priority for the past 14 years. Because of the extensive management program with local biologists, a year round supplemental feeding and selective harvesting; there has been a very strong native herd of whitetail deer developed. In 2008 twenty bred does from superior genetics were introduced, proving to offer an even stronger herd in the future. Other native species that roam the ranch include turkey, javelina, hog, and an abundance of quail, as well as, axis and blackbuck. Water: There are 6 water wells on the ranch, two of which are windmills and four are submersible pumps. One of these wells is 1868 ft. and exceeds into the aquifer having pushed water up to 27 ft. below the surface. About a ½ mile of the live Pinto Creek flows strong through the ranch, and there are 3 ponds as well. Many water troughs are situated throughout the ranch and are fed with several miles of underground pipe. Owner will sell half of water rights. Improvements: Pinto Creek Ranch has a 4BR main house that sits on top of Pinto Creek, along with 2 other camp houses providing plenty of room for ranch hands and guests. From the house is a 50x100 equipment barn along with a well built lighted roping arena. Along side the arena sits a set of full size cattle pens and horse stalls. Miles and miles of improved roads lead you to the many protein stations and quail feeders scattered among the ranch, eventually arriving to the airstrip that sits on the south end of the pasture. A game fence surrounds Pinto Creek Ranch to ensure the years of hard wildlife management, any cross fences are low fences and every internal gate is a bump gate. Remarks: The ranch has never been leased to hunters in the past 14 years of single ownership. It has been privately owned and operated, offering phenomenal hunting of not only whitetail, but many other native and exotic species. The cattle on Pinto Creek Ranch were removed three years ago, and the variety of grasses that remain strong offer some of the best quail hunting around. Minerals: No minerals
